Hello there! As a start here, I would first off like to say that I find your work spectacular. It's not often that I find those of such a young age to be so talented with the art... Also, you are so very lucky to have such beautiful scenery at your fingertips there in the Netherlands; what I would do for an opportunity to shoot somewhere like this! You should be grateful for such a beautiful home
The reason I chose to critique this image was because of its ability to stand out. It's always hard to choose one to do, but I felt that this one deserved it the most from what I saw. The photograph is beautiful and dreamy. It reminds me of a memory. The warm colours make it appear as happy, optimistic perhaps, and the mist in the background seems to indicate a sense of approaching negativity; perhaps an issue, perhaps something chaotic. I feel as if there is a personal representation within the image, hence relating to your quote All my troubles seemed so far away...". The beauty of the art is the fact that personal meaning can be defined to each viewer, separate to that of the creator. The fact that you're able to do this is fantastic.
Okay! So, this is less of a critique and more of a analysis so far, heh. I'll get into the technical stuff now.
The originality of the image is hard to give rating to, due to its nature. It's an image that has been done so many times before; the cliché forest and road with mist. But there is something here; the meaning, the colours, the warmth, the sense of an issue pushing itself slowly forwards, that makes the image unique. I love that.
Technique wise, despite the fact that I have less experience than I'd want to in this area of photography, I can say is fairly well executed. You've created strong visual balance between the trees and road and have used leading lines to draw the viewer into the misty horizon beyond. There may be a few issues with the light here and there, but it adds to the image in it's own little ways; not every photograph can be perfect, but sometimes it is the imperfections which make it just that. I can understand how difficult it is to achieve light balance with such light (I assume it's early morning here?). All I can really say is that the tree on the left is a little distracting due to it's exposure, but that's about it.
As you've probably noticed, I find this image very powerful, impacting, and also I am able to relate to it in a sense.
This photograph is spectacular. I really do love this. Keep up your amazing and unique work, I look forward to seeing what's to come! You are incredibly talented. I hope that one day I will be given opportunity to shoot places as amazing as the ones which you do.
