This is an absolutely delightful composition and presented with a high degree of technical excellence. The light filtering through the autumnal mist creates an ethereal, almost dreamy ambiance accentuated by the subtle, gentle, over exposure. The path and the arching of the trees is indicative of the artist choosing his viewpoint with great skill since the eye is gently pulled to the third point, in both the vertical and horizontal axes, where we wait for something to emerge from the mist. Cropping is a most subjective issue and although this composition works very well indeed as it stands for my taste I would have liked to have seen a tighter crop on both the right and left sides since this would increase the arching effect of the trees. These trees on the extremities do not contribute to the arching and in consequence are slightly distracting. As usual I reserve five stars for the 1 in a 100 image. Notwithstanding this is an excellent effort both technically and aesthetically.
Ooh, I don't know if you did this on purpose or not, but the division by "thirds" in the photo (branches overhanging the top third, the path heading of into the left third, etc) is very fitting for a picture with these calmer colors, I think. :3 Not to mention the meandering, wandering-off feeling the fade and mist gives~
