"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!

This morning I noticed deviantART now allows premium members to change their username. I wasn't content with my previous one (JapPieter), so I changed it to JPtHart. You'll still be able to visit my page using the old URL. Other news: I'm one of three finalist in a photo contest a museum is hosting! Next week I'll hear the results, and there will be a price ceremony, too. I'm really excited!
